HINDRANCES TO PRAYER
* Anything as Important & Powerful as Prayer is must have Hindrances…
-Disobedience, Secret Sins, An Unforgiving Spirit, & Home Relationships.
* Disobedience is the One Sin that Rebels against God.
-Rebellion- one who refuses to act on knowledge he has received.
-When God speaks, He leaves no room for Discussion.
-Know the Word of God & Refusing to act on God’s Word is Sin.
* 1 John 3:4- “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for
sin is the transgression of the law.”
* James 4:17- “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth
[it] not, to him it is sin.”
* Disobedience causes Truancy (Absence) from Prayer meetings.
-Adam sinned in the Garden & stopped going to the meeting place.
SECRET SINS
* Nothing Kills the Joy of Prayer like Secret Sins.
-These Sins clogs our spirit/heart like scum buildup clogs up pipes…
-Saints must be Quick to Repent, not Hide or make Excuses for Sins…
* 1 John 1:9- “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive
us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
* Proverbs 28:13- “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but
whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall have mercy”.
AN UNFORGIVING SPIRIT
* An Unforgiving spirit is sure Death to any Prayer Life…
-Unforgiveness causes any Believer to become Spiritual Constipation
* Matthew 5:23-24- “Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and
reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift”.
