3 Truths Anyone Seeking To Be A Christian Need To Accept by Deacon Dee Cotton

There are 3 Truths taught in the scriptures that anyone that wants to call themself a Christian needs to be fully aware of in order to reconcile their faith with the lifestyle they choose to lead.

 *The first is that Mankind was given a freewill and can decide for themselves the paths they choose to walk in life.*

We are not not robots nor are we made to be slaves of our passions; so it is a lie to believe that discipline can't be achieved over one's mind, body and spirit. A Christian believes that God can change all 3 (your heart, mind and soul) if you choose to actively live by your faith.

 *The second is that God is both "All Knowing and All Righteous" and thus not only knows exactly who deserves a fate as terrible as eternal separation from him, but would also never allow those that didn't truly deserve it to suffer such a fate.

The lesson of the 2 Trees in the Garden found in the Book of Genesis is summed up in that knowing evil and yet remaining sinless is possible only when one actively chooses not to engage in the knowledge of what is deemed wrong. It is illogical that an All Knowing and All Righteous God would knowingly label a thing as wrong and then make it impossible for a person created in his image to resist engaging in that wrong thing. Such a contradiction would render God false; and if God is false why go through the motions of calling yourself a believer?

It is written in John 14 verse 14, "If you ask for Anything in my Name I WILL do it." Ask God to feel you with the power to live by his commands and then actively affirm your faith in God by again, actively living by your faith.

*The third truth is that there is no such thing as a human that doesn't warrant eternal separation from God and a Great Judgement Day Separation WILL ABSOLUTELY HAPPEN!

Because of Adam's sin in that Garden, every person born after him are automatically cursed to be born with a sinful nature. We naturally desire to indulge in things that are against the will of God. It is a lie to pretend otherwise. So due to this there is no such thing as a person that automatically deserves to be in God presence. Because God is also Life itself, separation from God means embracing Damnation. However because God made us to have a free will it is incumbent upon us to understand that it is not God that ultimately dooms anyone to such a final fate; but it is actually we ourselves who do so if we actively choose to reject God that forces this end.

So no, God didn't make you just to doom you to hell.

It is written in Proverbs 8 verse 36, "But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul;
All those who hate me love death.
"

And because of this we must bare the burden of practicing with all seriousness the discipline necessary to live in accordance to God's commands.

After all it is written, in John 14 verse 15, "If you love me you will keep my commandments.

So intentionally engaging in what God deems wrong is not doing one's self any favors if one is sincerely seeking to please him.

The first step to legitimate salvation is to first admit that we are sinners who have sinful desires and don't deserve salvation. The second step is to sincerely ask for salvation anyway despite knowing EXACTLY how much we don't deserve it. God doesn't owe humanity anything; and so we as humanity can only survive a judgement day because God has chosen to take Mercy upon us and allows us sanctification and then unification with him because of his Grace alone.

THIS MERCY HOWEVER CANNOT EXTEND TO ANYONE THAT BELIEVES THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO WARRANT IT AND NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO ASK FOR IT!

People that don't want to actually change, look for justification not to do so; and struggle to accept the notion that they'd warrant such an end. The instead intentionally twist scripture to fit their choices in life versus embracing what is written and living accordingly. It is all who understand and accept these truths, and that spend their lives humbly seeking to obey God's commands despite having the ability to do otherwise, these are those who are allowed the grace of being in union with the perfect God in Christianity. Anyone calling themselves a Christian relaying anything outside of this doctrine does no favor to anyone that sincerely seeks to understand this faith. And anyone that finds fault with the religion for this perspective is free to live in opposition to the rules of the doctrine, but you can't then continue to call yourself a Christian if you make this choice. Just know that Christians believe that it is not them that one must ultimately answer to for such a choice.
